Another 11:11 Update; I still don’t get it.

April 2, 2009

3/25 On hold with the U.S. Copyright Office on business for my Uncle. After an unnecessarily drawn out recorded message about how long the wait would be, the automated system hung up on me. For the second time. My brain was so fried from trying to navigate the website and push appropriate buttons on the phone, only to get wrong departments and transferred to wrong departments, then finally get hung up on, I knew I was supposed to do something when I saw that it was 11:11, but I couldn’t figure out what.

3/26 My bottle of St. John’s Wort expires on 11/11!!!

3/27 I was in the kitchen, taking my vitamins, clock says 11:11. I do the jig and think, “Takin’ my vitamins, doin a dance.” I could feel a song coming on. I drank my smoothie and wiggled around the kitchen some more, all the time fighting the song that was assembling itself in my head without my permission. After a few seconds I stopped fighting it and just let it come. “Takin my vitamins / Doin a dance / Drinkin a smoothie / Shakin my ass”

Fine. There. I have an 11:11 song now. I posted it as my status on Facebook and got comments on it from a dear friend, which made me feel good all day. All thanks to 11:11 putting a stupid song in my head.

4/2 Writing an email in response to Doug’s email about why he now doesn’t want to go to a technical school. I was saying that he should still go for it. I had just finished writing the sentence, “It’s not necissarily a bad thing to stop thinking (so much) and go in a direction that’s going to lead to something better anyway, especially since we tend to analyze ourselves to the point of social, educational, and professional paralysis.” And the clock said 11:11.

I looked back to the sentence I just wrote and let it soak in a little. Looked back to the clock. Still 11:11. Big sigh. Wiggled in my computer chair and half heartedly chanted “Happy now?…Happy now????….” Bleh.
